Last weekend I had another huge trip with the other inbound and outbound exchange students, we were going Washington D.C.! I was really excited and so were the other students. We were about 40 in total because there were both outbound and inbounds, so Rotary had rented an entire bus for us to take. The trip down there was 3 hours but I did'nt mind it since we were eating snacks, listening to music and just having a great time!
When we arrived, the first thing the driver did was drop us off, because we had an appointment in the Congressional building. Our guide was really great and told us a lot of cool stories about the building.
We were staying at a small Marriott just outside of D.C. where we were split up into rooms of 3 or 4 people, but we rarely spend time in the hotel rooms since we were sightseeing all the time! The second day we started by going to the Arlington Cemetery and watch the whole guard switch, afterwards we went to the Air and Space Smithsonian museum where we split up and got a couple of hours to go see all the other Smithsonian museum, it was a great day and at night we were going out for a nice dinner on a boat that would sail up the Potomac river. The food was great and we could go upstairs and see all the memorials pretty much, it was really pretty and quite special. The final day we did not have a lot of time, so we only ate breakfast and then got in the bus and headed home, but it was a really fun and cool weekend and it was great to see my fellow exchange students!
