Rotary in Quakertown

Rotary is an international humanitarian organization. Their motto is 'service above self' which perfectly reflects the organization. But since it is a huge and international organization, every Rotary club is different, and do different humanitarian work in their community's. My Rotary club in Denmark did a lot of work towards shelterboxes which is a box that you send to people in need, that has tents and blankets and other things you might need. We did not do a lot of physical work in our community, it was more about donating money towards different projects and help that way.

My rotary club here in Quakertown does a lot more physical work, we have a food pantry in the middle of town where people donate food, and then we distribute it to the Quakertownians that need food, we renovate houses and apartments together with other Rotary clubs so that they can be sold or donated to people that need a house or an apartment, we have a lot of "run for a cause" type of things where it cost money to participate and then that money goes towards a cause, we have charity golf outings and a lot of other things.

One thing that Rotary does besides all their humanitarian work and donations, is they have exchange programs for young people that want to see the world and get experiences that they will never forget. So thank you to Rotary International and both my Rotary clubs for making this amazing year happen! I am very grateful.

Here is the Quakertown food pantry. Of course you can not see me in this picture, except for my one ear behind my 2nd host-dad Dave Freeman ---->
